If you are in Montreal, Canada and have just arrived in the summer season then congratulations Kabayan and welcome to your new home! I hope you like walking because you’re going to be doing a lot of it this weekend. Driving around on a regular weekend in Montreal is pretty impossible already because of the all the construction, but this weekend is going to be particularly frustrating. It’s the time for the infamous Tour de L’Île. I know what you’re thinking. That’s only on Sunday, we have plenty of time until then. Well you’re wrong because there’s also the Tour la Nuit starting tonight. If that wasn’t enough, there are 3 different routes that will each be blocking their own streets to ensure maximum traffic fu**ery. The Tour de Nuit starts Friday June 3rd at 8:15 pm The Tour de L’Île starts Sunday June 5th between 7:00 am 9:30 am Jacques-Cartier bridge will be completely shut down until 1:15 pm on Sunday and Mercier bridge will only have 1 lane going in each direction. Part of Highway 15 near the Turcot Interchange and access ramps to the 720 west and Highway 20 will be closed starting tonight until 6:00 pm Saturday. Many bus routes will also be altered, so be sure to check the STM website to see the new routes Here are the paths the bikes will be riding on, but pretty much the entire area should be avoided at all costs.
