Mother Nature has chosen mid-February as a good time to kick off winter, and Environment Canada responded with an extreme-cold warning on Saturday.
The warning was lifted around noon Sunday. Wind chill is expected to become a balmy minus-33 Sunday afternoon.
Extreme cold warnings are issued when there is an elevated risk to health, such as frost bite any hypothermia. The forecasting and climate agency offers some tips for extreme weather:
