Montreal, Q.C. -- The Knights of Rizal and with the participation of other Filipino organizations in Quebec are starting a new group to assist the newly arrived RNs from mainland Philippines. This group is meant to help our Filipino RNs during their confusing early days from arrival and give general assistance in establishing their new lives here in Quebec (the province, not the city). At the moment, the group is still in its preliminary stages and gathering all the necessary resources needed to form the new organization. It doesn't even have the name yet. Any suggestions? Officials from Knights of Rizal saw the need to form this new group as more Filipino nurses are immigrating to Montreal under the Quebec Skilled Worker program---And wanted to help. In the next few days, the officials will be in a meeting discussing an action plan to get things on the move. If interested, please visit Quepinos.weebly.com website and leave your email address in the contact section or email us at quepinos@gmail.com. You will be contacted once the new group is established and ready. The Filipino Nurses Association of Quebec, Inc (FNAQ) is all ready an established group in Montreal to provide assistance in all things nursing. Such as assisting in how to get your license recognized in Quebec. The difference from our group is that we will provide assistance during your initial days of arrival (during when you're not a nurse in Quebec); helping you find a job; creating networks for job opportunities; pointing you to the right organizations to help you better with concerns; arranging airport pick-ups if you don't know anyone in Montreal; assisting in apartment hunting and maybe provide some furniture to get you started and the like. In the meantime, if you are all ready in Montreal we recommend going to the biggest Filipino event of the year this June 25th, Saturday at 10 AM, Mackenzie-King Park. It will be an excellent opportunity to form networks, make new friends and maybe find a job. See you in the event. **UPDATE: January © 2021. Quepinos. Enjoyed reading this? Hit that share button.
